Seven and Four
Sabrina and CC's birthdays are just a day apart, and this year for the first time we held our family celebration for the two of them on the same day. Other years we've gone to great lengths to give them each individual attention, but it turns out they loved sharing the celebration, and even dressed alike for the occasion--in dresses that were crocheted by my great aunt for my sister and me. Yes, those apricot dresses are over 30 years old!
The whole day was about playing with new dolls, making and decorating cakes, preparing special dinner food, playing outside in the beautiful sun, telling stories about how they were born and what they did as babies, and how they are growing up to be the most incredible girls anyone could ever hope to call their own. It was a lovely and relaxing day of celebrating for our little family, and with more celebrations for Sabrina's 7 years and CC's 4 to come (you know, friend birthday parties, extended family gatherings, classroom parties) I was happy to keep things sweet and simple at home.
