In an old house in Paris...

It's not often that I come across a film I am happy to let Sabrina watch every time she asks, but the animated version of Madeline just happens to be one of them. Sabrina loves the Madeline book series about the clever and brave little French girl and her friends, and has been reciting entire scenes and singing songs from this 30-minute film since she first saw it a few months ago. The film is an expanded version of the original picture book in which Madeline has her appendix taken out. It includes very catchy songs and some hilarious new scenes, all done seamlessly in Ludwig Bemelman's drawing style and with a wonderful reading of the original work by Christopher Plummer. We got our copy used and, unfortunately, I have not been able to find a copy for sale on the web to point anyone interested to, but I have seen it at the library.
